Autobiography Sample (Part One) 自傳範例（上） My name is Peggy Tsai. I have a twin sister; we were born in Yunlin and were adopted by a family in Taipei. Our adoptive mother passed away when we were 10 years old, which resulted in a rough childhood. 我的名字是蔡慧珠。我有一個雙胞胎姊姊；我們在雲林出生，被台北的一個家庭領養。我們的養母在我們十歲時過世，我們的童年因而有些不容易。 Due to financial restrictions, I didn’t go to a general high school. Instead, I went to Shilin High School of Commerce and got a job before graduation. Recalling the past, my English was behind that of my peers at the beginning. One turning point was the summer vacation before starting high school. I watched over 100 English movies in two months. Later on, in my high school years, I still watched movies, and I listened to ICRT often. 由於經濟上的限制，我沒有去念普通高中。取而代之地，我去士林高商就讀，並在畢業前得到一份工作。回想過去，我的英文一開始比同學差。一個轉捩點是在升高中前的暑假。我在兩個月內看了超過100部英語電影。之後，在我高中那三年，我仍然看電影，並經常收聽ICRT。 During my working years, I went to study in the Department of Applied English at National Taipei Commercial College, and then in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University. In my junior year of university, I saw an opportunity to enhance my English at church with a small English group. To be honest, I had always thought Christians were religious fanatics and only attended the small group to improve my English. 在我工作的幾年間，我去讀了台北商專的應用英語，之後又念了台大的外文系。大三時，我發現一個增進英文能力的機會，就是教會裡的英文小組。老實說，我以前總覺得基督徒是宗教狂熱分子，參加小組只是為了提升我的英文。 |
